In Albuquerque, NM, Neo Szechuan Restaurant serves authentic and delectable Chinese cuisine. Neo Szechuan is a natural choice for eat-in or take-out meals in the Albuquerque neighbourhood because of i…
Outstanding real Szechuan dishes as well as amazingly prepared Chinese family favorites! I have been searching ABQ for my husband's & my 2 fave Szechuan dishes and WOW! Neo had them & perfectly Szechuan spicy!
25. Double Cooked Pork with Cabbage / 回鍋肉 and Dry Cooked Chicken (here named 38. Spicy Fried Chicken / 辣辣子鸡)
PERFECTION! Tasted just like everytime we ate these 2 dishes in some tiny restaurant in a big city Chinatown (with friends who could read the non-English menus) AMAZING!
As for the traditional Chinese takeout family faves I can say the 37. Orange Chicken / 陳皮雞 was the best I've had in years! And I have tried a lot! Big serving (not sure if the spice level is a bit too hot for kiddos but we loved it) 4. Fried Dumplings / 鍋貼 (potstickers) were among the best in town but the BEST find for us was 5. Spicy Chili Shrimp Pork Wonton / 紅油炒手 (like a steamed floppy potsticker mixing pork & shrimp in some incredible chili oil sauce, sorry no pic we snarfed 'em too fast!)
Neo wins hands down! No contest!

I was literally shocked when I opened the container of cold spicy beef (夫妻肺片) today. For nearly $15, this portion is unbelievably small. I’ve had this dish countless times at Chinese restaurants all over the world, and I’ve never seen a portion this tiny for this price.
To be fair, the flavor is quite good, and I’ve ordered from Neo Szechuan many times. But this time, the portion-to-price ratio was so off that I don’t think I’ll be ordering again. It’s disappointing, because I genuinely like their food. But charging this much for such a tiny amount feels ridiculous.

The 3. Cheese Wonton / 芝士雲吞 is really good, my only comment would be that it was a lot of wonton wrapping and not a lot of the good filling. The 15. Garlic cucumber salad/ 凉拌黄瓜 is delicious it did kinda spill in my bag, but its great flavor. And the 77. Thai Tea / 泰式凍奶茶 was pretty good, not too sweet and a good size for price.

The 3. Cheese Wonton / 芝士雲吞 are not worth getting at all, the tiny size and amount to high price ratio is really bad. Taste is subpar as well. The 35. General Tso's Chicken / 左宗雞is worth getting though, good spice to them.

38. Spicy Fried Chicken / 辣辣子鸡 was too spicy this time. The 66. Pad Thai / 泰式炒粉 is not pad thai. It doesn't have that sweet tamarind taste. Instead, it was spicy. The 35. General Tso's Chicken / 左宗雞 sauce was a goodmix of sweet and spicy, but there was very little chicken. If you cut into the pieces, it's mostly dough. I would say only maybe 15% of it was chicken, the rest was dough. The best dish was the 15. Garlic cucumber salad/ 凉拌黄瓜. It tasted so much better than it had any business tasting so im sure there was MSG in it (along with all the rest of the food).
