• DoorDash orderAs a local expert, I was excited to try the Veg Thali from this restaurant, but it fell short of expectations in a few areas.
The Vegetable Biryani, while generously portioned, was disappointingly dry and overly spiced, lacking the balance that makes a good biryani flavorful and aromatic. The three curries—dal, paneer, and chickpea—were serviceable but didn’t quite hit the mark in terms of flavor complexity. The Paneer curry could have been more creamy, and the Dal needed a bit more seasoning to stand out.
The Roti, unfortunately, was dry and lacked the softness you expect in a freshly made bread. On a brighter note, the Babycorn Manchurian starter offered a nice crunch and bold flavor, adding some much-needed excitement to the meal.
The small portion of curd rice provided some relief from the spice, but the Gulab Jamun dessert was the highlight—perfectly sweet and satisfying. A few slices of onion and lemon accompanied the dish, though they felt like an afterthought.
Overall, the thali had potential with its variety, but execution, especially with moisture and seasoning, could be improved.
