Pecking House has some of the best fried chicken iv had ever! The chicken is super tender (even the white meat was juicy) and the flavors are on point. The spicy version has that nice malatang spice but balance well a bit of sweetness. And the salted egg yolk was pure decadence.
Don't sleep on the sides either, the cheddar cornbread w/ honey smacks.

The best item was the Mumbo Ghost Pepper Wings which were still crunchy despite being sauced. And the sauce was spicy with some sweetness - a great execution of sauced wings. bravo!
the *Spicy Chicken Sandwich was ok. I felt most of the flavor came from the toppings, as neither the breading or chicken seemed to have a spicy flavor. this seems like a missed opportunity.
the Jarritos Grapefruit was great, grapefruit soda is almost always great, with a bigger flavor than lemon/lime or orange soda.
finally, the Heirloom Butter Bean Salad with Sesame was a disappointment. I would say it was too small and salty to be a significant healthy dish. and the flavors and textures of the ingredients did not mesh well, so it wasn't a treat.

NBC's Open House episode with Chef Huang brought me here and couldn't wait to taste his special crispy chili fried chicken recipe. The chili 3-piece with cheddar cornbread and Yukon potato salad was an amazing combo of flavor. Chicken was fresh and hot upon arrival. Highly recommended spot for the best chili fried chicken you can find!

*PH Chicken Sandwich is crispy and very delicious! Also love the Cheddar Cornbread with Apple Honey a lot! Orange Pepper Wet Wings is the only thing i found a little bit underwhelming as the meat inside is a little bit tasteless.
