I first discovered this restaurant thanks to a friend's recommendation, and I'm so glad I did! The Phở Bò here is seriously the most authentic Northern Phở I’ve had in any restaurant around Vancouver. I’d have to say it’s the best when it comes to that delicious Northern flavour! It would be awesome if they offered some "quẩy" to enjoy alongside the Phở as well!

It was poorly packed when I received it and it was liquid everywhere. The second thing I noticed was that as I went to take apart the chicken with my chopstick there was big pieces of bone and I was very lucky that I didn't bite into it. And all my time of ordering pho from many places. this is the first time I've encountered something like this. and there's a difference between being grilled chicken skin to being boiled chicken skin and it was not good. I I will not be ordering from this establishment in the future.

The beef pho (pho bo) was much too sweet for Northern tastes. The chicken pho (pho ga) was seasoned and balanced as expected of a northern region pho ga and a much better choice compared to the beef pho. As a prior customer of their original Wooden Fish establishment, I had much higher expectations, especially knowing that the proprietors were alumni of Linh Cafe. The Spring Rolls were crispy and packaged well, but lacked balance. The rolls were filled with a dry mince meat mixture and did not offer the textural crunches and nuances of wood ear mushrooms and other hearty vegetables usually found.
