usually, Shipley is bland and we get it just for the cheese in the kolaches. today, they were fantastic and the donuts were still warm. step up from the usual.

I order very early for coworkers or if I have morning events, so I dont always expect everything to be fresh and to be made within the hour of Shipley being open, especially with the variety I order. Its always a hit or miss, but this time around, all items were extremely old and stale. Even the Sausage & Cheese Kolache seemed old. The Classic Glazed looked fresh, and they usually are. The Cherry Iced with Sprinkles Cake was the worst one. Tough, dry, and greasy, with no sprinkles, and an oily aftertaste.

The jelly donut are half the size of nomal donuts. Not happy. They raised their price and reuducetsize of their donuts

I have been eating Shipley donuts since I was 4 or 5yrs. old. A Houston police officer retired started the donut dream in the fifties on Main Street not too far from our church, True Light Baptist in Studewood TX. My Dad would stop for donuts on our way home. You could watch the people making the donuts. My favorite was the Half-Dozen Classic Glazed Do-Nuts!! Enjoy!! Oh, by the way, I am now 72yrs. old! I believe the recipe is the same. MMM good
