The food of Sidestreet Pho, which is located in Alameda, California, has its origins in the pots and pans of pre-war Vietnam's street sellers. Owner/chef Hanh Nguyen grew up eating simple yet fresh di…
Okay honest opinion, the mushroom are good, they have flavor and are fried well. Unfortunately, they give a very small portion for $13 bucks.. this is give or take 1.5 large sized oyster mushrooms cut into small cubes. The bottom half of the box is filled with a carrot and jicama slaw with paper between to keep them from touching. It seems as if the box is full, but it's not. Kind of not worth it for an appetizer.

The Bx BUN THIT NUONG | VERMICELLI BOWL came packed with noodles, veggies, and pork! The sauce and peanuts were in separate containers so nothing was soggy.
The BANH MI | SANDWICHES (Copy) was loaded too! Pickled carrots and daikon, jalapeño and some cucumber. Grilled pork was tender!
This place does everything well and is my go to Vietnamese spot!

The Pho Tai was a generous portion. (If you prefer the meat on the side, there's no option for that on here. Maybe soon? lol.) The broth was flavorful and noodles were cooked perfectly. Veggie bag has the essentials, but doesn't include lime wedges. The crispy pork eggrolls don't come with any lettuce. For the price, it definitely should

I think this may be the smallest portion of pho/bbh that I've ever had. The noodles came in the smallest take out box... and was half empty. The pho noodles weren't cooked, meaning once cooked, it was EVEN LESS. Soup flavors were mediocre at best especially for the price. Donut was over fried and hard.

Don't you dare put hoisin sauce or rooster sauce into this broth. Sacrilege! Dip your meat in those, fine. But the broth!! It's like a beefy ambrosia, transporting you beyond heavenly realms. Adding some basil, lime, and veggies elevates it just that much more transcendent. Best pho in the Beast*, by far!
