Sitar promises to please the taste buds of novices and Indian cuisine enthusiasts alike with a variety of authentic Northern Indian delicacies. Our food features a delicate blending of herbs, spices, …
Weve been customers since Sitar opened .
They continue to please. Per our request they made our two dishes low sodium, plus they added peas to Rogan Josh and paneer and extra fresh ginger to Aloo Gobi. Always accommodating, always fresh, rarely average tasting.

We've been customers ever since Sitar opened, dining both at the restaurant as well-as enjoying home delivery. We comeback again and again. The food is well-prepared with generous portions.
Tonight we had Vegetable Samosas, Lamb Vindaloo, and Aloo Gobi. A quart of rice was included. The 2 entrees were ordered as medium spicy-hot. They were definitely spicy but the flavors of each entree came through the medium heat. The restaurant followed our specific requests for low sodium. Big plus! The cook also put extra ginger in the Aloo Gobi as-asked. The meal was prepared promptly, delivered pronto! My only wish is for a plastic bag lining the paper delivery bag. The delivery bag can get oily and weak otherwise.
Sitar's food and service is terrific! Enjoy!

I probably order from Sitar once every 2 weeks or so. I have deviated before when they are closed and I'm always disappointed with the other choices. Sitar's food is excellent! They always get it prepared quickly and they also provide more food (rice, etc.) than any other place - enough that we have leftovers! They package it neatly too (the little things). I will aways be a fan. Best Indian food in New Haven!

food is always fantastic, but for $20 i would hope the container of Lamb Curry would be more than half meat, half sauce. slightly disappointing. Kheer was actually even better than usual, very light and creamy. Pudeena Naan, which i tried for the first time, was okay, but regrettably not filled with /fresh/ mint, rather it was filled with what must have been ground mint from a spice bar. surprising, considering the quality of Sitar's food in general. perhaps it's an authentic recipe; I'm not sure.

The Papadam and Raita were great, lots of appropriate pepper and seasoning in the papadam and the raita was fresh and yummy. The Rogan Josh was a definite miss, the meat seemed dry and old. The Chicken Tikka Masala was decent, but the pieces were very large and not at all tender. The Malai Kofta was the best of the dishes, but the kofta balls are quite large, so you end up with 3 of them in a very large pool of sauce.
