This place is really good! We order Mexican food all the time, but from other places that we went to by habit because we were familiar with them. This restaurant popped up on my door dash app and I'm so glad we tried it! Not only is it our new favorite because the food is sooooo good, but it seems to be much cheaper than our former places and the portions are large. Yay!!

my Kids' Enchilada meal was delicious and a perfect amount for me. The Kids' Quesadilla was really good but the French fries my son got do not taste or feel like they're cooked fully through. My guys Taco - Birria (Shredded Beef) did not have lime or radish, and the Churros did not have ice cream or whipped topping and was still charged 10$.

One of my favorite local restaurants, extremely glad I gave them a shot.
As someone who has a lot of nostalgic or Calimex food, it can be hard to find restaurants that have food that tastes like what I want. The only other place I've found that is similar is California Burrito, which is all the way in Des Moines. El Riconsito is a godsend. Their food t reminds me so much of Californian Mexican food, particularly in their tacos and pickled carrots.The meat is always cooked properly, but not dried out, and their salsas have fantastic flavor.
I'm particularly a fan of their Birria, in everything I've tried it in it's been fantastic. The flavor is great, it's extremely tender and juicy, you can tell it was made with care. Sometimes I find large chunks of fat in the birria, but that's to be expected, and it's easy to just not eat it if you don't want to! Their carne asada is well seasoned and has a great texture every time, too.
If I had any complaints, it's just that when I DoorDash their food, since they don't allow special instructions or have the items listed, I can't request their pickled carrots or radish. I do get them sometimes, and I'm unsure if it's dependent on the Dasher I am assigned, who is working the store at the time and/or how busy it is! But I wish it was more consistent, as I do adore both of those items and would love to be able to get them through DoorDash each time I order.

Not great and dissapointed. My side of guacamole I paid $5 for was not included. My $22? Carnitas plate had big massive chunks of meat, not the flavorful crispy shredded carnitas I expect from a Mexican restaurant. $80 for DoorDash for two kids meals, one entree and my side of guacamole that didn't arrive really disappointing.

The Carne Asada is a GREAT deal- great portions, tons of sides, and absolutely delicious! This is my comfort meal. Would 100% recommend!
