Love their " STEAMED RICE DU.PLINGS " / a k a. "" IDLIS "" ...STEAMED Fresh & Hot served with SAMBAR Lentil Curry, Coconut Chutney & Hot Tomato Chutney. Always a Good Vegetarian Restaurant. Carrot Halwa / Grated Carrit Dessert - Good Taste, but not a Great Quantity ! Thus the 4 Stars !!!

Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.
The place is a Gem & Staff are Friendly & Obliging.
Highly recommend this ' Local Small Business' post Covid - 19 for genuine South Indian Cuisine !!!!

2 Piece Samosa were very good. The Spinach Masala Dosa were packed cut in half on top of each so they stuck together and completely came apart. The Kadhai Bhindi was over cooked and extremely salty. I threw it away

Paneer Makhani was more like a soup but it was delicious. Masala Dosa was fantastic! Channa Masala was also a little thin but tasty. Sag Paneer was delicious. Vegetable Biryani was delicious. Vegetable Korma was the only thing that was disappointing—thin and not good flavor and it didn't look like korma I get at other restaurants (green color instead or orange).

No idea why it's being " Misrepresented " as a " New Owner " on here - somewhere.
It's my ' Go To' for Tradituonal South Indian IDLIS & DOSAS !!!
The Waitress ' Ms. Kalpana ' has been there a while. 2 + years atleast.
I just called to ' Verify ',& ' No ! No New Owner there !!!
Whoever feels their food was ' Cold, Stale ' or whatever must feel free to complain on the Spot.
Am sure they'll make it Good - 4 you.
I, personally, never had an issue.
The South Indian Combo is Excellent.
It's a " Vegetarian" Restaurant.
The Lunch Thaali was Good as well.
