THAI FOOD WAWA
Northern Thai flavors combined with the finest ingredients from California.
Chef WAWA's bio
I grew up at a Thai street food restaurant with my family. My mother opened her restaurant…
I can always count on Wawa Thai for fast fresh neighborhood food. The Coconut Salmon is fire! You can't go wrong with the fresh spring rolls- super healthy and fresh . The upgrade to brown rice is worth it! It's not that soggy gross brown rice. It's got texture and nutty flavor. Highly recommend!

Revising my review to 5 stars as it turns out after several orders, at least for the Tom Kha, the "No Spicy" is actually thai mild. Which i honestly do not mind at all now that I know to expect it. Undoubtedly some of the best Tom Kha Gai you can find in the Bay Area, which means the rest of their food is undoubtedly good, too. I judge all thai places based on the quality of their Tom Kha, because it is really easy for a place to use cheap ingredients such as canned coconut milk with a ton of added sugar in place of complex flavor profiles you'd normally find with the spices, galangal, lime, etc.
Wawa, despite making me think of a midwestern grocery store is easily in my top 3 for the state of California in regards to their Tom Kha Gai, and i can say that with fair authority with having tried it at 30 places in Los Angeles, 20+ in SF Bay Area, and another 20 throughout the rest of NorCal.
Now to google "How to get over a soup addiction"

I have never encountered a dish by Wawa that isn't top tier tasty. My favorite Oakland Thai spot. They're also super personable and thoughtful! This time when I came for pickup, the guy behind the counter took the time to add ice to my Thai tea; he really put attention into not letting it melt while it was waiting. The Thai tea was bomb, btw. Not too sweet, but packs a real punch. He also took the time to answer my food allergy questions. The worst criticism I can give is that I was hoping for more than six wings for $15, but I wasn't mad when I bit into them, and I would order again.
Takeout is kind of a big treat these days, and the depth of both culinary and human care that went into my order really made my night.

The Pad Thai was very flavorful, just wish the portion size was a bit larger. The Yellow Curry was a bit bland and barely had any chicken in it. The Tom Kha was delicious. Very complex flavors and loved the spice. The Curry Puff was delicious and flaky. The Chicken Satay (5 pcs) was also a bit of a small portion. Was not 5 full skewers. Just 5 small pieces of chicken. It had good flavor and the peanut sauce was tasty. Overall I don't know if we would order again knowing the portion sizes. Possibly would consider going in and dining in person to see if the portions would be better.

This food was heaven.was visiting the area and wanted something flavor filled and hot. This Thai place had items ive never seen beforeso I ordered the coconut salmon and a chicken curry with pickled veggies. Both were banging. The portions were great sizes too and lots of fresh veggies. I wish the allowed notes on orders as I am allergic to beans and got a lot of string beans I had to throw away but other than that small note 10/10!
